Jess Gromer

Jess Gromer is the Program Officer for the John T. Vucurevich Foundation. She grew up in Rice, MN, but moved to Rapid City in 1998 when she married her husband and fell in love with the community. They have been blessed with two wonderful teenage children. Jess has a diverse background that started with a degree in Animal Science, which led her to continue my childhood passion as a horse trainer and stable manager. From there, Jess went back to school and gained her Nursing degree.

Nursing took her to the Maternal Child field, Public Health, National Institutes of Health Native American Health Disparities research implementation and evaluation as well as introduced her to the work of Collective Impact. This set of skills led to her current position with the John T Vucurevich Foundation and directly to the work of MOA.

The real work of MOA is being open and honest about our history and embracing the differences in people and cultures in order to create true relationships that heal our past. The fact that our community’s leaders are modeling this ideal is a testament to our readiness to make our piece of the world better for our children.
