William (Bill) May

 

William (Bill) May has served as the CEO and General Counsel of Black Hills Surgical Hospital since 2004.  Prior this role, Bill practiced law with the Costello Porter Law firm in Rapid City for 16 years, concluding his tenure there as a senior partner. Bill has been involved in the Rapid City community throughout his career, serving on numerous boards. He recently concluded his term as a board member for the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce, and served as Chair of that organization from 2015 through 2016. He currently serves on the South Dakota Parks and Wildlife Foundation Board. Bill is a graduate of Black Hills State College and the University of South Dakota School of Law. He lives in Rapid City with his wife Debra.

Bill is a proud member and ambassador of MOA, where he advocates for improving relationships between native and non-native populations. He believes MOAs vision of bridging relationships between native and non-native peoples through education, advocacy, and mentoring, that we can promote a better understanding of the unique gifts of all members of our community.
